1819年に設立された、テネシー州にある、私立共学のリベラルアーツカレッジ
全校生徒は、1,213人。300エーカー、東京ドーム約26個分の広大なキャンパス。
全米で最も古い大学50校のうちの１校で、南部では12番目に古い歴史をもつ。メリービルは州都ノックスビルから車で約15分と近く州内3番目に大きな町。大学近郊にはレストラン、カフェなども整っており、大変便利な環境。グレートスモーキー国立公園にも近く、国立公園へのゲートウェイの役割も果たしている。メリービルは「Top Ten Places to Retire」としても選ばれたこともあり、生活環境が良いことで知られている。
学生の97％が奨学金を得ていて留学生にも返済不要の奨学金を支給している。

Awarded to entering international students with a minimum 3.8 GPA.
$23,000 each year for residential students. $18,000 for commuters. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 3.0 GPA each year.
International Dean's Scholarship
Awarded to entering international students with a minimum 3.5 GPA.
$22,000 each year for residential students. $17,000 for commuters. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.75 GPA
International Maryville College Scholarship
Awarded to entering international students with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
$21,000 each year for residential students. $16,000 for commuters. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.5 GPA
International MC Scots Scholarship
Awarded to entering international students with a minimum 2.7 GPA.
$19,000 each year for residential students. $14,000 for commuters. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.0 GPA
